The words "Heeeerrrre's Johnny..." has a special place in my heart. This was the only show that my sister, parents and I -- all wanted to watch. On weeknights, our Alvarez Guedes LP sat silently on the turntable, and Johnny was welcomed into our home. His humor, style and grace helped me understand el Americano a bit more, and certainly made us feel more comfortable in our American-Cuban skin.
