Disco.

They're all here. Crazy bananas footage of the 'Born to Be Alive' Guy, CHIC, K.C. & The Sunshine Band, Anita Ward, Boney M, Labelle. Even the Rock Stars taking their turns at Disco, The Stones, Blondie, Rod Stewart. The end of this clip, from the German/French production - the 70s - From Woodstock to Walkman (dubbed en Español here) with everyone partying at Studio 54, looks like a lotta fun. Happy Monday.

Wow. Blast from the past. Hialeah's own K.C. and the Sunshine Band.

Besides the outlandish costumes, the best thing about that clip is the Spanish subtitles to the lyrics. Nothing funnier than nonsensical faulty translations to nonsensical English lyrics.

As for Studio 54, lots of blow going around in that joint. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

The remarkable thing is that a lot of that music still holds up when it didn't seem like it would at the time.

Truth is that even though it was different than what music fans had become accustomed to (2 guitars, base and drums) that music was a lot more substantive than a lot of the crap out today. Take a look at the horn sections some of those bands had. Real instruments, not samples of previously recorded material.
